Didier and Fallahi Arezoudar join SSES group as PhD students; Peck begins MS work

We’re delighted to welcome two new group members in the fall 2015 semester, and proud to have one student advancing to graduate work.

Richard Didier recently completed his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah and is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a Sustainability certificate.

  • Energy system interest: Buildings
  • Environmental interest: Emissions

Richard will be a laboratory TA for undergraduate Heat Transfer students.

Zahra Fallahi recently completed her M.S. in Energy Management and Sustainability at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) and is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Energy system interest: Distributed energy resources
  • Environmental interest: Emissions and Water

Zahra will be a laboratory TA for undergraduate Thermodynamics II students.

Jaron Peck recently completed his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah and is pursuing an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Sustainability certificate. As an undergraduate researcher, he was an author on two peer-reviewed conference publications and won an OUR award to present his work.

  • Energy system interest: Power generation
  • Environmental interest: Water

Jaron will be a course TA for undergraduate Numerical Methods students.

These students bring a unique mix of new skills to the research team and are all passionate about sustainability and systems thinking. Find more information about each of them at the People page.
